Bug List

1.     The RTS app does not update the bus times to show accurate predictions of when it will arrive to the bus stop.
a.     The app is not updated or supervised frequently enough
2.     Maintenance department does not fix appliances quickly or fully, instead superficially
a.     There are many apartments in the building, and fixing an appliance fully rather than every time it breaks would be more expensive
3.     The Starbucks line at Library West is too long
a.     It is the largest and most popular one, and in a popular library
4.     The dryer in the apartment breaks constantly and the knob falls off
a.     It is an old model used by many tenants before
5.     The fridge in the apartment leaks constantly
a.     It is filled to capacity and
6.     The floors become water damaged
a.     The fridge leaking water to the wood floors
7.     The water heater’s small storage for hot water in a shared apartment
a.     It is the most economic model or most adequate size for the apartment’s layout
8.     Car alarms go off in the garage at night
a.     Many people are trying to find their cars or locking them
9.     The cashiers at Publix are full and have a long line
a.     I go at popular times where many other students also don’t have classes and are able to go as well
10.  Apple Care lines are an hour long
a.     Many people are having trouble with their devices, and the Apple store is the only place that can fix it with warranty
11.  My Iphone glitches and activates Siri non-stop
a.     Out of many phones, one is bound to have technological defects
12.  You have to wait for new water in the  Brita pitcher to be filtered before adding more, making it take a long time if you want to fill it up fully
a.     The container for filtering is small to allow all water to pass through and then enter the pitcher
13.  When you have to locate a worker when you can’t find a product at a store, but also can’t locate a worker
a.     They are most likely understaffed, or workers are fixing the inventory
14.  Makeup products expire very quickly
a.     Cosmetics are applied to the face, and as such departments are likely to put a short expiration date to minimize risk
15.  Coffee machines have to be descaled and in order to do so, have to buy their products
a.     The company wants to profit, and have their own cleaning solution
16.  Shoes are uncomfortable and have to be broken in
a.     The material is not pliable yet and must conform to actually being worn
17.  The apple earphones require a dongle to switch between computer and phone
-       apple is able to sell more accessories and change the look of their new devices
18.  Bluetooth earphones charge unevenly, with one reaching 90% and the other 10%
-       they are not placed in the charging case correctly
19.  The weather app only shows you the highest and lowest degrees for the next day, but you cant see the time either will be at
-       to not clutter the app
20.  The busses don’t announce the next stop in the same way it named in the RTS app
-       the app uses the nearest building for the stop, and the bus announces the street, to make it easier for those recognizing the street



I found the list difficult, in part to remember what specifically in my day to day bothers me, and also to explain why it exists. Usually I try not to dwell on what doesn’t work or think of why it happens. Making the list I noticed what products I’ve bought that don’t actually work effectively, when I usually complain or notice about it only when using it and stop thinking about it afterwards. To remember and admit that many products and services I use don’t work was difficult.

    Hi Adriana,
    I also found making my bug list was very difficult because I only think about the issue when it happens. It also bothers me greatly when the RTS bus app is not updated and the bus times are not accurate. The buses do come frequently but because of this issue, sometimes I end up going to class late. I can also relate to the Brita filter issue because I go through this everyday making it an inconvenience. I think it is good to know what does not work well with you and others, to get in the mindset of an entrepreneur.

    Hi Adriana, even I found it difficult to think about various things for the bug list. Some of the bugs mentioned in your bug list are very relatable. Especially, the ones about the long lines at Publix and the weak links in the RTS app. I have also faced a similar issue with the maintenance department. The only thing that I spotted was the format for the reason abruptly changes from the 17th bug. Apart from that, I really enjoyed reading the bug list and found it interesting.

Begin with alternative evaluation.  In the last case exercise, you determined how customers sought information related to solving their need. The outcome of this step is to produce a set of alternatives. Customers pick from among this set of alternatives. In this step, your job is to figure out how they do their picking. Does price matter the most? Does quality? Does style? Is there more than one factor that is important to your customer segment? What sticks out to you as the most formative experience? The experience that you'll remember years later? What was your most joyous experience? What experience are you most proud of yourself for accomplishing? I am proud of finishing a business concept in such detail. Usually, in past innovation courses, business models are changed after a few weeks to a new assignment. However, this was going into more detail on the same idea.  At the beginning of the semester, I mentioned that I wanted each of you to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
